Bursa is Turkey’s fifth most economically developed city. Production of potatoes, cucumbers, leeks, cabbage, green beans, eggplant, peppers, artichokes, and spinach approaches 250,000 tons. Bursa is a pioneer in fruit cultivation. Fruits such as juicy peaches, chestnuts, grapes, apples, pear, strawberries, cherry, cherry, apricot, plum, medlar, cranberry, walnut, melon, watermelon, and others are grown. Bursa produces 80 percent of Turkey’s strawberries and 40 percent of its peaches. Grapes grown in vineyards covering approximately 25,000 hectares are also exported to other countries.

Bursa is one of Turkey’s most important industrial centers. Bursa is home to 32 of Turkey’s top 500 companies. There are over 8,000 workplaces of various sizes. Bursa is home to two of Turkey’s three automobile factories, Renault and Tofas. As part of the machinery and metal goods industry, casting, metal goods, and machinery manufacturing, 16 different types of machines are produced.
